Here’s a little something else I did last week titled “The Dark Lord Riseth, His Minions Follow.”
By the way, that painting I posted last time now has a title, “Frost Breath,” and is posted for sale on Etsy.

I got a little write-up in Thrillist recently. That was cool to see, and I’ve noticed some increased traffic to my Etsy shop.
Speaking of which, I’ve posted a couple of new wood-burn and acrylic pieces on Etsy. I’m trying to get a group of these smaller paintings out there before I start work on some of the larger ideas I have, since I already know those are going to be more involved.
Skull Priest started out as a design for a linocut, and then was turned into this woodburn. I’m basically fulfilling my need to mess with Aztec and Mayan influences here.
Siblings was going to be more of the Aztec influence, but I’m seeing a lot more Wild Thing here. What do you think?

I don’t know if you can call these properly abstract. I’ve been experimenting a little bit beyond the figurative, that’s weird for me. These are woodburn paintings. I burned in the design and then painted around it with watercolor and acrylic.
I’ve not been blogging lately, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on anything. I’ve got this Egypt themed box and a few other things up my sleeve that I’ll be posting about soon.
This stuff’s going to be posted to my Etsy store soon.

For anyone who is curious, two of the new hybrid animals I had on display at Constructor are now posted on my Etsy store: the Tarsnail and the Seacock.
I’ll be posting the Mousegonfly and a couple of other new pieces later on this week.
So far Renegade’s been going pretty smooth for me. Here’s a brand new card I drew and printed up Thursday and Friday, just in time for the weekend.
This will be added to the Old Scratch Etsy store within the next few days. You can’t tell from the picture or the card, but I used silver ink for the spines of the creature in the original drawing.
I added a new piece to my Etsy store. It’s another addition to my ongoing series about the denizens of the Arbortoreum. Yes, I butchered the word “arboretum” on purpose. The Arbortoreum is a special grove for trees that have cracked under the pressure of life in this world. They just sit and dream of crazy animals that inhabit them. This here’s a scorpmunk.

I was going to quit this series after I had about five or six, but I’ve had a couple of cool brainstorms and I think I have at least 10 out of my actual sketches alone.
The latest two projects I’ve been working on, aside from the ongoing hybrid animals, have been miniature 3 x 3 inch paintings of robots and handprinted monster-face coasters. Well, I’m happy to say that at least the robots are coming along just fine so far.

I’m going to be putting these up on Etsy one at a time. Not sure which arbitrary number will be the final one, maybe when I’ve reached 10? Or 12?
The coasters aren’t going as well. The best means of protecting the image, so I’m told, is decoupage gloss. I don’t have any, and haven’t made that trip to the craft store yet. So that one is on hold. Not to mention that the order of cork coasters I got was actually slightly larger than the block I was printing with. Shit happens. Being as ADHD as I am, I’m already moving on to new things.
