I concede Defeat. I stopped at 21, 170 words last week Wednesday, the 19th of November, with the full intention of continuing on with the 2008 National Novel Writing Month. Then I never got a moment to sit down with a clear mind and move on in the story. Thing is, I’m at the cusp of developing some new action in this plot, so I’m going to continue with the novel. This series idea has been on my mind for too many years to simply give up on it. But I can, and will, give up on this year’s NaNoWriMo. I’m done. I’ll run my own contest: National Novel Writing Three-Months. That seems more reasonable, and takes the holidays into account. Maybe I’ll have a nice draft finished for revision in February.
Anyway, this lets me prepare more hybrid-animal plaques in time for the holidays.
